Amie

Director and Occupational Therapist

From an early age I was driven to help others. It wasn’t until I had spent some time working in the real estate industry that I settled on my field of study – Occupational Therapy.

After successfully completing my degree with honours I spent several years in the busy public hospital system working in the areas of mental health, stroke, long term rehab, orthopaedics and post-surgery.

I’ve also been fortunate to work in the occupational rehab space, gaining a deep knowledge of the insurance industry as it relates to return to work, motor vehicle injury management, defence personnel and home modifications.

My personal passion for health, fitness and adventure is part of my desire to support my clients to find and live their meaningful life.

Not everyone wants to climb mountains, ride horses or lift weights but I believe everyone benefits from finding and pursuing fulfilling and meaningful activities that meet them where they’re at in their life’s journey.

WARRICK

Practice Manager & Team Mentor

Aside from being Amie’s husband, I have extensive experience working in the finance, sales, accounting and business coaching industries.

I am passionate about health, wellbeing and functional movement and even moonlighted as a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer for 5 years whilst also running my successful business coaching practice.

When I’m not supporting Amie and the team at True North, I love spending time with my family and getting outdoors through my own meaningful occupations. I’ve experienced my own fair share of injuries and rehabilitation over the years, including an out of hospital cardiac arrest in late 2024 that resulted in numerous life-saving surgeries as well as some life-threatening complications. My recovery has been termed “remarkable” by many clinicians so I truly understand the value of care that True North Allied Health provides!

Lynsey

Occupational Therapist

After travelling and dabbling in a number of different roles in my younger years – from haul truck driver to tea lady in a hospital (this is where I noticed OT for the first time), I decided to complete my bachelor of Occupational Therapy on the Sunshine Coast in Qld.

I have experience in aged care, NDIS, adult and youth mental health and paediatrics. I have also had the opportunity to work in some projects within the dementia community and have been involved in some fun community events.

I have lived in Tassie for over 5 years now and I absolutely love it. It’s the most beautiful place to be outside. I am leaning into the soccer Mum phase of my life and feel pretty enthusiastic about the experiences I am yet to have.

I am extremely passionate about community connection and about people living creatively and well. I love how different each and every one of us is and I love how much OT honours that, allowing us to work in the most meaningful spaces.

My favourite thing to do is to laugh and have abnormally deep conversations with strangers in the street. I don’t mind a dance in the kitchen and I also love to be on picnic blankets eating cheese in the sun!

MADDIE

Occupational Therapist

Becoming an Occupational Therapist was no-brainer for me. I have always had a keen interest in the medical field, a passion for social justice, and a desire to help people reach their goals and potential. Witnessing two of my loved ones navigate life with disability was the motivation that got me through my Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, and has lit a fire in my belly to advocate for people with disability.

I have spent the last 5 years completing my studies and working as a disability support worker in the beautiful location of Coffs Harbour NSW. As an Occupational Therapist, I have worked in a multidisciplinary private practice, supporting clients across the lifespan from paediatrics to aged care and everyone in between. While there are so many areas yet to explore in the world of OT, currently I have a keen interest for providing home modification recommendations, supporting elderly clientele to remain living safely at home, supporting socially isolated clients to regain community involvement and build relationships, support clients in returning to the activities they love, and develop daily routines in creative ways.

Recently after welcoming my first child, I have moved back to my hometown of Launceston Tasmania. In my freetime you can find me out in nature, surfing, camping, gardening, and frequenting the many fantastic cafes Tasmania has to offer. Stillwater rowing is one of the huge loves of my life, and I look forward to returning to the sport.
